Services
The largest genealogical library in the world. Discover over 340,000 unique books and 128,00 periodicals. Over 500,000 free genealogy books, family histories, maps, yearbooks, historical records and many are available in the searchable FamilySearch Digital Library. All microfilms have been digitized. FamilySearch has preserved a master physical copy of each film, stored in FamilySearch’s archives. The FamilySearch Library houses thousands of physical maps for areas all over the world – including digital online map experience for various historical maps all over the world.
Get in-person genealogy help from specialized experts and volunteers who can speak or read a variety of languages. Receive help with language translations, FamiySearch.org and other genealogical websites, for the next steps to take in your family history research. Explore some subscription websites for free.
Use our self-serve equipment to digitize your tapes, photos, slides, books, film, and other media. A family friendly area that helps guests of all ages discover their heritage including recording studio, computers, large touch screens and children’s play area.
Learning resources include many online services including webinars, homeland research videos, FamilySearch Wiki, RoostsTech Videos, Research Essentials, FamilyTree Essentials, FamilySearch Library Technology Skills, FamilySearch Quick Start Learning Lessons.
